Will MLAs make money in Delhi? Salary raised

The salaries of Delhi MLAs are being increased following the approval of the Central Government. The total salary of MLAs will increase from Rs 54,000 to Rs 90,000. With the introduction of the bill in the next assembly session, the basic salary will increase from Rs 12,000 to Rs 30,000. The Center has also given the green light to revise allowances for telephone bills and other expenses.

Payments for the constituency and other expenses will also increase. The previous pay rise was in 2011. In 2015, he applied to the Center for a pay hike but was rejected by the Center.

Where is the highest salary?

MLAs from Telangana are the highest paid. Telangana Assembly MLAs are paid a salary of Rs 2.50 lakh per month. In Uttarakhand, the monthly salary is Rs 1.98 lakh. The Himachal Pradesh government pays Rs 1.90 lakh per month to the MPs, while Haryana pays Rs 1.55 lakh. The salary is Rs 1.42 lakh in Rajasthan and Rs 1.30 lakh in Bihar. Tripura, on the other hand, has the lowest wage. The minimum salary is Rs 34,000.

Retirement benefits

After the five-year term, MLAs receive a pension of Rs 30,000 per month. Rs 8000 will be given as fuel cost. There will be free railway passes and medical benefits for life. The average salary of MLAs has increased by nearly 125 per cent in the last seven years.
